The Archie Plume Chronicles is an illustrated dark fantasy series exploring forgotten histories, uneasy alliances, and the lives caught between ordinary troubles and extraordinary powers. Its stories travel from crowded river ports and marshland communities to northern frontier towns, where old ruins are opening and the past has begun making demands of the living.

Archie Plume earns his living as a private investigator and historical consultant in Orienne, Aureliane’s principal river port. Young, observant, and usually carrying more notes than luggage, he specializes in cases involving old properties, questionable records, missing relics, and disturbances that conventional investigators would prefer to leave unexplained.

His training in history, cartography, and architecture makes him useful. Another ability makes his work considerably more dangerous.

Through the touch of a bare hand, Archie can experience fragments of memory held within constructed places: a conversation behind a bricked-up doorway, footsteps on a vanished staircase, the fear of someone whose name never reached the public record. These impressions arrive without explanation, and sometimes without any clear distinction between what happened long ago and what is happening now.

He wears a black glove to keep those memories at a distance. He carries a plain field journal to make sense of them.

Occasionally, the journal adds observations of its own.

Archie would like to believe that a carefully drawn map, an honest account, and enough evidence can put things right. The people he meets give him reasons to question that belief—and reasons to keep trying.
